Gearing up for spring building

Before going to get my Tattoo last night, (which you can see on MooseLife.com) Jen and I went to the hardware store to stock up on some droid supplies. Time to get the droids up and rolling for this years events! Maybe I will get ED up and rolling again as well.

Kids night at Fazoli's

The other day we did an event at a local restaurant in my neck of the woods for the kids of the community. The turn out was good, we had a steady stream of kids (and adults) come through all evening. After the event we all ate and joked around for a while.
Here are some pictures of the event that Denny took.

Rainy Day

This morning it was raining so I took the extra free hour to finally do some work on Patches after two months of him being broke. He is still sitting where I left him so long ago.
I cut some plugs for the horseshoes and glued them in place.
Next I used what was left of the putty to continue filling in the screw holes in the legs.
I need to go get some more sometime soon so I can start sanding.
I also took the new dome motor and measured where I needed to cut it.
I then proceeded to grind it down and put a new key way in it.
Not a lot done but at least it is something. I miss my little Brown and White friend :(

Waiting till the last minute

I have not had a chance to do anything droid related except for events for the past month now that my other job is in full swing and starting my new blog at MooseLife.com .
I have an event to run later today and I still have not got around to charging my batteries sense the last event. So I woke up extra earily this morning and went downstairs to start charging the batteries. It has been so long sense I have been in the workshop that I had to clean a few cob webs out first. Hopefully I get enough cells charged by event time.

Library event

We went to a local Library to help out the 501st at event. Tons of kids came out of the woodwork to see us.
I mean tons of kids!
A few kids were dress up as well.
I had fun running Brad's R2-D2 around most of the day.
Leia read to the kids for a while. R2 liked the stories.
Watch out for the Sith!
Vader purging Jedi as usual.
Is my ammo clip on straight?
Yes, my master.
It was a great event and we all had fun. Now to just get one of my droids ready for Tuesday's Event in Bellevue.

Doctor Who Party

This afternoon I got the retrofit of the TARDIS done even down to the round ambulance sticker on the door. It is now the Matt Smith TARDIS. I did not get it done in time for the Lincoln Con so I took it to the Edmond's Doctor Who premier party and everyone loved it.
While I was there I checked out an airsoft P-90 for my SG-1 costume. Guns are not really me but I like the look of this one. I will think about getting an airsoft one after the rest of the costume is done.
What would happen if the TARDIS flew through a Stargate? Hummmmm?

TARDIS regeneration

Just like David Tennant as he was regenerating, I took out the TARDIS windows.
I am changing the look to look more like Matt Smiths version...at least on the outside.
After carefully removing the windows I painted the frames and sashes with white paint.
Once I put on another coat I will reassemble everything.

More pictures from the Con

No video yet but here are a few more pictures taken by my friend Denny :)

What do you mean you do not have the part?

Jedi vs Hulk
Rogue Rebel
T3 taking a stroll with his master.

New Moose Blog

I have started up a new blog that now separates my personal stuff from my Sci-fi stuff.
This way I can update my personal stuff more frequently without it interfering with my hobby blog.

The new blog can be found at....
MooseLife.com

It is not for everyone but I hope you like it :)

Way of the Jedi

Last weekend Jen, Syrena, Brad, and I got some sword fighting training from 501st memeber Dan's friends so we can duel at events and put on a better show.
Here we are warming up.
We learned all sorts of twirls and moves.
As an added bonus the instructors taught us some defensive moves and throws.
We had a lot of fun and plan to go back some time this year.

Fit Trooper 2.0 Take One

It may be April 1st but the only person I am fooling is myself. At the beginning of the year I decided to take better care of my health and in some ways I did but I am still at 233 lbs and I have been sick a lot lately again. Also I turn 36 this month and have yet to get any bucket list stuff done other than getting T3 up and running.
In fact the majority of bucket list stuff I got done last year was mostly droid stuff. Although I am proud of the droid stuff I accomplished for me and for others it is not the only thing in my life. My spiritual and physical life needs to stop taking a back seat and move more to the forefront.
Today I want on a 3+ mile bike ride. As I went down to the park I stopped to watch a train go by.Most of the park is reopened after flooding a few weeks ago.
The river is still pretty high. You can see Iowa on the other side.
I did not do this but I think it is cool. I will have to bring Patches to this bench some day.
One of my favorite spots to read.
A mile away from everything. My town up on the hill.
Now I am at home blogging while drinking some herbal tea instead of soda :)
Then it is back to work.

I am also thinking of converting the attic space into a yoga/meditation center if time and money permit. The basement workshop/laundry area just does not cut it.
