My first idea is to use an actual rail system and set it up just like the drawer slide would have been.
My second idea is to use a self enclosed lead screw system that is light weight and self contained. The only problem would be the cost of such a unit.
I am going to check out a few different places online during the next few nights and see if there are cheaper places to buy them from.
