I was looking at my own blog for a change and realized there are a few events and projects I forgot to post about last year! So now is a better time than any to post them. Here is the first of many....
Last spring I made a Steampunk backpack for some local steampunk events. I found a few photos if the event, here they are in no particular order. Here is Jack taking my backpack on its first test run. In these pictures the backpack is about 90% complete. Jack's trusty monkey at his side as the weapon warms up.
Group photo at the end of the days event. It is really late at night by the time we left and had to walk back to the entrance in the dark.
Action Photo!!!!
Here, the trains that I run in the summer for the gardens are behind us. I think Jack wants his monkey to ride one of the trains. LOL
Taking a break at the indoor display area.
The backpack actually dose run on gear power and shoots out smoke.
Steampunks travel the world in 80 minutes!!!
Strike a pose!!!
No, I am not a Steampunk Ghostbuster. I get asked that all the time. LOL

Tell us what you are making already!!!
With a little help from Jen and a friend, we got some of the smaller pieces cut out.
Later on I started gluing and screwing a few of them together. The pieces will be trimmed one more time on the ends to make them flush later on. I need to find the rest of my clamps! They are buried in the garage somewhere.....

Doctor Who ACE Logo (with Update)
UPDATE AT BOTTOM:
Started work on the back of Jen's ACE jacket now that the front is done. I made a mockup of the back logo out of some cheap fabric first to make sure I got all the proportions and sizes right. Now that I am happy with everything I will take my time and cut it out of some quality fabric.
I just might make a few extra just encase....
Here is an updated version of the Ace Jacket on the correct material. Just a few edges to clean up and I think we got a winner. Then it is time to make a MASTER version and a few extra copies for other people.

Measure 100 times cut once
No one has guessed what this project is yet by a long shot! Today I started laying out measurements by hand with a couple of my favorite trusty rulers These rulers have helped build quite a few projects over the years, I love to lay everything out by hand and see it take shape before my eyes slowly. The anticipation of what it will look like later powers me on. These rulers have marks, writing, and holes drilled all over them from all the various project, but as long as they are still straight and not bent I will continue to use them.
Laying everything out, I try to maximize the space as to not wast much plywood. I am also collecting any used scrap pieces I can find to cut down on using new material. My algebra skills are being put to the test on this project as there is so many pieces that have to be made up from scratch......

What is Moose making next?
Now that all the other projects are done or waiting on parts I am venturing out on yet another project.
(The only big one I am doing this year due to medical problems)
Got lots of plywood and started laying out measurements by hand.
Can anyone guess what it might be in the comment area below? :)

Doctor Who: Tom Baker and Ace cosplays
Most people guessed what the new cosplay was right off the "BAT"! LOL
So I thought I would show off the one I am working on for myself as well...
I am half way done with my Tom Baker outfit. Just need to get the right inner shirt and pants and it is done.

The cosplay for Jen that includes the bat from my last post is ACE from Doctor Who. She is the 7th Doctor's companion. We made a few of the patches and buttons ourselves. Just a few more items for the jacket and it is done. Jen made the black skirt herself and I will repaint the bat in the spring.
